To All Our Readers & Customers
I would like to thank you all and how much I appreciate your support for my vision of a more sustainable way of living a truly global gypsy lifestyle. The emails and messages I receive from all over the globe have shown that people are as passionate as I am about to
The Eco Gypsy ethos has always been to bring you the most beautiful way to be and ethical explorer and a stylish eco gypsetter.
In this first year I have been overwhelmed by the support of our properties and the amazing people we meet that are involved to make these travel destinations as sustainable as possible. They work tirelessly to not only preserve the environments they are based in but also to support the communities in their area. The work and dedication of these properties are completely inspiring in their dedication to preserve the beauty of our planet and it’s people.
Needless to say I have also been completely inspired by the people I have interviewed and met for our Eco Heroes section. Throughout the world of travel, fashion and charity there are individuals who are conserving resources, beauty and helping people directly in the most ingenious and incredible ways. Without their help many ecosystems and communities would have perished. The importance of all their work can never be underestimated.
In recent months we have quietly launched The Eco Gypsy Ethical Beachwear Collection, curated and designed by myself. It was inspired by a love of the aesthetic of the original global gypsys of the 1970’s who travelled slowly, sustainably and stylishly. It is also very much influenced by my adopted home of Indonesia, the largest archipelago in the world full of a myriad of beautiful nature, tribes, culture and history that is truly breath taking.
In Bali we are lucky enough to have highly skilled artisans and villages where the vision can be turned into reality. Our bags are made from the rattan of Borneo weavers, the ankle cuffs made by Papuan necklace makers. Everything is handmade and we ensure a fair wage for all our cottage industries. This helps people support their families and communities.
Once again the support and feedback we have had from our customers has been wonderful and thank you to each and every one of you for purchasing products. The amazing bloggers and publications that have featured us, and our customers who are helping to spread the word. We will be adding to the collection and have new stockists soon.
We will keep scouring the globe to bring you the best of eco travel and our Gypsy Spot Mini Guides to areas in each edition. Thank you for turning a dream into reality and we look forward to the next year of The Eco Gypsy.
